Walk Now for Autism Speaks, the nation's largest grassroots autism walk program, is Autism Speaks' signature fundraising and awareness event, taking place in communities across the United States, as well as in Canada. Powered by volunteers and families with loved ones on the autism spectrum and local businesses and companies that employ those on the spectrum, this successful grassroots fundraising effort not only generates vital funds for autism research but also raises awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism and the need for increased research funding to combat this complex disorder.

Official Press Release
Newburgh, N.Y. – Under blue skies on Saturday, May 14th, over two hundred adults and children came to the Newburgh Free Academy (NFA) Main Campus Track to take part in the NFA Key Club's 4th annual Walk for Autism Speaks.
The fourth annual walk was headed by Supriya Makam, chairperson of the Key Club's Walk for Autism Speaks Committee and founder of Educate Without Borders, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting supplemental forms of education. The walk included unique activities such as making rainbow loom bottles and henna tattoos, and had performances from the prestigious NFA Madrigals and other musicians. There was also an abundance of free food donated by Dunkin Donuts, Rita’s Italian Ice, and various committee members.
They raised $2463. All proceeds will go to Autism Speaks, a not-for-profit global organization devoted to increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders and funding research towards autism science programs.
Many thanks to our proud sponsors, including Designs By Siri, NFA Construction Career Academy, Orange County Trust, and Kiwanis for supporting all of Key Club's endeavors.
