In June of 2015, EWB volunteers held a book fair at the 150th celebration of Newburgh Illuminated in Newburgh, New York. There, a booth was set up, and books as well as stickers were given away to children.

Educate Without Borders held its first Book Drive in June of 2013 at the fourth annual Carly’s Kids Day. The book drive took place at the Orange County Choppers and was a success! Five large boxes of books were collected and all of the books were donated to the Family Promise of the Mid-Hudson Valley. On Friday, March 11th, 2016, EWB volunteer Amanda Cotton along with other volunteers conducted a book drive at Meadow Hill Global Explorations Magnet (GEM) School’s movie night. They collected a generous amount of books, which will be used for later projects, such as building new libraries in lower socio-economic areas. At the movie night, and EWB booth was set up with coloring materials, stickers, and a bin for book donations.
Meadow Hill GEM School is a K-8 school located in Newburgh, New York. Their mission is to provide effective and rigorous educational opportunities that are inclusive and challenging, using a learner-friendly environment that stimulates critical thinking, risk-taking and a deep understanding of the curriculum.

On October 3rd, 2015, members of EWB held a book fair at the Children of the World Festival at His Word Reveal Church Grounds in Kingston, NY. There, EWB volunteers Supriya Makam and Taiquan Monk were able to speak about EWB and what we have done so far. Later, these two members had the pleasure of being interviewed about EWB on a local Spanish radio show.
Educate Without Borders has been conducting book drives and book fairs across the nation for over four years. Over the years, we have collected and distributed over 1000 books.
